main pageDosage Information

1. Tinctures

I give a range of dosages so each client can find the right amount of an herbal remedy for themselves. This will depend on your sensitivity to herbs, your weight & other factors.

In general you will take 3 droppersful of an herbal formula per day. Notice I am saying dropperFUL, not drops.

A dropper - FULL is what naturally comes up into the glass dropper when you squeeze & release the bulb in the bottle. It no where near fills the dropper, looks more like 1/2.

So squeeze the rubber bulb, put it down into your tincture bottle & release, there's 1 dropperful.

If you are generally sensitive to herbs or want to begin slowly, begin by taking 1 dropperful and gradually increase to 3. If you have any symptoms (of dizziness or anything unusual) email or phone me, and cut back a bit.

You can take your full daily dose all at once, usually earlier in the day (in case there is ginseng or something that might keep you awake at night).

Or you can put your full daily dose in a drink bottle & sip at it during the day.

Or you can take divided doses of 1 droppersful 3 times per day.

Do whatever you will remember & whatever feels best to you.

If you have purchased a sleep tincture you will begin by using 1 dropperful only. And take it in a tiny bit of water (in a shot glass), or straight into your mouth. Take this when you are in bed & ready to go to sleep for full benefit. If, you feel you need more you can take 2 droppersful at bedtime. If you need a 2nd dose in the middle of the night that is fine.

2. Teas

My teas come as loose dried herbs, lots of chunks & pieces, so use a spoon and stir it up each time. It is fine to let your tea steep all day with the same herbs, or to add a 2nd amount of water using the same herbs. Generally your tea is ready for drinking after it has steeped 20 min.

You can make your tea in a regular tea pot if you like, and pour it through a strainer (dollar store sells little ones that are perfect.)

Drinking medicinal tea counts as part of your water for the day. Although you still need to drink plain water as well.

The other way to make your tea is just in a pot of water, don't boil it & keep a lid on it.

Or you can buy a thermos, put the loose herbs in there, that way none of the qualities of the herbs are lost, because it has a tight lid on it, plus it stays hot.

You can also purchase a little coffee maker that is just used for tea (so it doesn't taste like coffee). Put the herbs directly in the glass carafe, & pour through your strainer. The only problem I have found with these is that they tend to over heat the herbs when it is left to sit.

For my cleansing tea, you can use a heaping tablespoon or so to make a liter of tea. Drink this throughout the day. It is fine to make it hot & drink it cold later. Also fine to add flavored teas if you want to or a piece of ginger or cinnamon.

3. Vibrational Essences

Vibrational essences can be added to your drinking water. You can use 3 - 5 drops at a time, it is not critical how many drops you use. They can be added to your drink bottle for the day, also to your big pot of tea. Even to bath water.

You should not touch the dropper with your hands or tongue. And these should not be stored near electricity, microwaves or computers if possible.
