Shake Recipes



 

 

 

I recommend that my clients use a shake for one meal of the day. It is easy to add many of your powdered supplements to, or even to empty capsules into. It makes a very nutritious and filling meal. It is useful for those who are wanting to lose weight.

This shake is good for anyone wanting to make a slight change from a conventional diet. If you are transitioning to raw food see my raw food page.

 

1. FRUIT SHAKE

Add the following to the blender:

    almond milk or rice milk, yogurt if you use dairy products

    ,( no cow's milk please -- see the article on cow's milk), I am no longer suggesting soy milk either !

    and add enough water to get the consistency you want

    fresh or frozen fruit, frozen fruit often makes the shake taste better, and frozen bananas make it very creamy

    ground pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds,or other nuts ground flax seeds or HEMP oil

    2 heaping teaspoons or more of hemp hearts . I recommend the hemp hearts, seeds, nuts and flax as your protein, and do not ever recommend protein powders, I feel they are too processeD

    a teaspoon of kelp powder for minerals

    a teaspoon of nutritional yeast for vitamins and mineral

    a teaspoon of beet powder, bowel cleansing and alkalizing to the body

    a teaspoon of spirulina or greens powder: see the Dr. Schulze green's blend

    Himalyan salt sole for trace minerals, or other trace mineral drops

    lecithin
other supplements you use as a powder or in capsules (that won't change the taste of the shake too much, such as):
calcium ascorbate powder, or vitamin C powder, bioflavinoid powder, slippery elm, acidophilus

2. VEGGIE SHAKE

Add any of the following to a blender & blend until smooth:

water & psyllium, put about 1/2 cup water in the blender, add 1 heaping tsp. psyllium & let sit for at least 20 min.
1 stick celery sliced (because of the strings)
1/2 organic lemon, whole
1 tomato
slices of green, red, orange or yellow peppers
greens: parsley, spring mix organic greens, arugula
1/2 cucumber - peeled
small slice of onion or garlic
apple if you want

You can add any of your powdered supplements: acidophilus, spirulina, tinctures, hemp oil, raw almonds, pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds, etc.
This is a good shake to have during a cleanse, have a fruit shake in the morning, and a veggie shake for lunch. You can use any raw fruits in season that will blend up ok.
